or: Why Little Snapper won’t replace my Skitch.
I just bought the MacHeist 3 Bundle yesterday morning (you should do, too). One of the tools i wanted to have was Little Snapper – a Mac desktop application to capture, edit and organize screenshots. I already tested it some time ago, but wasn’t really convinced to pay 39$ for it.
When i read this tweet (which means “…those who have little snapper don’t need skitch”) i thought “is that true?” and i must say, no, it’s not for me and here’s why:
- you can make freehand drawings in skitch (fun)
- skitch feels more lightweight when using it
- skitch can be used with mento, my favorite social bookmarking site
- you can mail images directly from out of skitch
- skitch has private sharing features (secret URLs etc)
- skitch is free
- i love skitch
Some more things i am missing in Little Snapper:
- tag autosuggestion/autocomplete
- tag list to chose from
- +Z should work when adding annotations
- somehow smart collections don’t work
- upload is very slow
- tabs in browser would be great
- open all open firefox tabs in littlesnappers browser
- upload to ipernity, scrnshots, etc…
I also shared these at getsatisfaction.com month ago.
So, long story short: I will use both tools.
